Simply put, I've always wanted to build a boat of my own. The idea of building a vessel from scratch with my own two hands floated around in my head for a while and in July of 2017, I started watching some instructional videos to see what the process would include. It wasn't long until I ordered some plans online and got to work. I quickly started to see the expense and doubted what I was getting myself into, but then I thought, ya know, from the videos it doesn't seem that hard. So strip by strip, my boat slowly came together and finally, on October 10th, 2018, I stepped into the hull, sat on one of the hand-woven seats, and paddled through water for the first time in my cedar strip canoe.
